Intramuros

I am a history geek. I maybe no good at remembering all the where-on-earth-did-those-names-come-from of significant people and places but I am all for history's fascination and appreciation. It amazes me how sites from generations back are still present today to be admired and learned from.  Thus, my joy when I visited the walled city - Intramuros in Manila. This quaint old town is such a picturesque!

This is still part of our October getaway last year and this is another photo diary. You may notice that I flood this blog with photos recently. That's because I realize I want to go back to all these wonderful memories years from now without missing out on something. Sky's the limit!!! :)

Baguio City

Baguio City is now in my top five favorite destinations in the Philippines! Or maybe top three... Or it can even make it to number one. Gahhh!!! It's so hard to decide. Why do I even have to rank?

Here is a very long overdue photo diary of our trip on October last year.


Friendly note: No travel guide here. The only disadvantage when I travel with my favorite group is not being able to give my readers (*cough *cough) tips and guides because I'm dependent on our super awesome planner Laiza.

Or maybe I can give a few tips:

1. October is not a strawberry-picking season. The strawberry farm "opens" from November to May. The farm is located in La Trinidad, several kilometers away from Baguio City. It can be reached by a jeepney from the city.

2. We took taxis to almost all of our destinations within the city. Fares were reasonable when shared with a group.

3. Pasalubong are cheaper than I thought. Keychains are the star! No wonder every Filipino purse has one! :)

4. The Treetop Adventure in Camp John Hay is not as exciting as it looks in the photos but the nature lovers would definitely enjoy it.

5. Strawberry jams with whole strawberries are too sweet for me.

6. Make sure to keep yourself warm. Bring sweaters and scarves. Beanies are available along the streets for cheap prices. It really is extra cold there. :)

7. Be extra mindful of your belongings in Session Road.

What amused me:

1. Strawberry taho was very tasteful!

2. SM City is not air-conditioned!!! Cool! (Literally)
